MK Dons Loan QPR's Balanta

Queens Park Rangers youngster Angelo Balanta has been sent out on a season-long loan to Milton Keynes Dons.

The young Colombian has shown great potential in his limited first team opportunities and now will have more regular first team opportunities at Stadium:MK.

Former R's assistant manager John Gorman will be a familiar face for the 19-year-old, who spent last season predominantly waiting in the wings under successive managers.

It appeared Balanta's best shot of first team action would come under Jim Magilton but an untimely injury scuppered his progress pre-season and ultimately he never truly regained his edge.

Balanta has previously had a successful loan spell at then League Two side Wycombe Wanderers while featuring in the cup for Rangers against the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Gorman revelled in the fact that the Dons fended off a number of clubs for his signature: : 'He's a wonderful talent and we're fortunate to have acquired him because there will have been plenty of clubs in the hunt,' he said.

Yeah. If he can have a good season at the Dons, and hopefully bag 10 goals, He could be of good use to us in the following years. Good test and experience for the youngster.
