Shaun Derry has moved a step closer to becoming a QPR player with talks reportedly in an advanced stage.

Sky Sports are reporting that the veteran midfielder is in advanced talks with QPR and former boss Neil Warnock - who is a keen admirer of the former Leeds United man.

It is a deal that has been in the pipeline since the Championship season finished as Warnock looks to raid his former club for talent.

Prior to Palace being in administration Derry and his team-mates were on the cusp of a playoff place, but also showed great determination to stay in the division on the final day.

The midfielder will undoubtedly vie with Gavin Mahon due to their similar roles in the side, conversely it could also call time on the QPR career of the former Watford man.
