Warnock Frustrated At Palace Stall

Neil Warnock is growing frustrated at the lack of clarification regarding the Darren Ambrose deal.

Ever since Warnock joined Rangers towards the end of last season, rumours regarding Ambrose potentially following him have been in the pipeline.

The deafening silence from both sides regarding the deal have only served to suggest that the deal has scuppered in light of the take-over of the new Eagles consortium.

Since the final hour take-over was completed, Palace seemed to have moved the goalposts regarding the Ambrose deal, with Warnock sticking to his guns on his valuation of the player.

Speaking to Sky Sports the QPR gaffer revealed what price Rangers have laid on the table for the former Ipswich man.

'Palace's new consortium think he's worth more,' he said.

'We're talking £750,000 and add ons up to £1m. I won't be going any higher than that.

'Darren, I'm sure, will be disappointed if he doesn't come.'

Ambrose played a crucial role in Warnock's Palace side that made an ascent towards the playoffs, before former chairman Simon Jordan pulled the plug on his funding.

The resulting points loss saw the Eagles fighting the drop and Ambrose's crucial goal at Hillsborough sent Sheffield Wednesday to League One.
