PREVIEW

Cardiff City have been strong in recent seasons, but with the financial situation surrounding the club the major talking point, it will be difficult to see how they mount a similar challenge.

The Bluebirds blew their best chance to date, losing the playoff final to Blackpool - in what would have been a much-needed financial boost for City and chairman Peter Ridsdale.

Class acts Peter Whittingham and Michael Chopra were stand out performers, and had they been consistently matched by their colleagues it would have been a more successful season for City.

As it stands Cardiff find themselves in a do or die situation - the importance to perform this season is paramount from a financial perspective.

Prediction: 10

Cardiff will find it tough to emulate the standards set in recent years, purely because of the uncertainty - and this is coming from a supporter of a club that knows about instability!

The truth of the matter is that it is tough to predict where Cardiff will finish, but in my estimation they won't better last year's achievement in what will possibly be a season of upheaval.
