PREVIEW

Leeds United finally gave their supporters cause for celebration after gaining a long-overdue promotion from League One - bringing to an end years of heart-break for the Whites.

Twice Leeds were dumped out of the playoffs by Doncaster Rovers and Millwall respectively, but last time out they avoided the lottery by finishing second place on a dramatic final day.

A club steeped in First Division history, Leeds United won't settle for second best coming into the impending Championship campaign, with thoughts of a top half finish firmly on supporters minds.

Prediction: 15

At present Leeds appear a side that have ambitious expectations given the current make-up of their squad, and that could either be the making or breaking of their line-up.

In my opinion, at present Leeds appear to be a mid-table side, with a plethora of positive League One attacking talent, but lacking the necessary experience and fire-power to challenge higher.

The loss of Jermaine Beckford is attempting to be offset by the arrival of Billy Paynter, but as a player who himself has it all to prove at this level, time will tell on the viability of their purchases.
