PREVIEW

Rangers fans have been fed the disappointment of false ambition for quite some time since the arrival of the money at Loftus Road.

Flavio Briatore has spearheaded the age of mediocrity as Rangers threaten to perform, but implode at the very sniff of success - epitomised by last season's boom and bust epic.

The winds of change are in the air with the Italian taking a back seat and Neil Warnock agreeing at last to take the helm at Loftus Road, and excitement is once again in the air as the season draws closer.

Rangers are a very different prospect this season, and while they may curb the razzmatazz, the ruthlessness and grit that has been lacking should now be evident.

Prediction: 4

Speaking with my heart as well as my head, I believe that Neil Warnock can turn Rangers from perennial underachievers, pretenders if you will, to genuine playoff candidates.

Rangers have for a long time had talent in their squad, without the application, desire or team spirit to truly succeed - this is something that Warnock has sought to install in recent weeks.

A striker or two would do their chances of promotion the world of good and with the boss set to tie these up before the end of the week, it could be a very exciting season in W12 - I hope.
