PREVIEW

The Hornets are looking to preserve their Championship status once more as they enter another difficult Championship campaign.

Malky Mackay's men avoided relegation last time out despite a struggle, but some timely wins saw them propel clear of the Championship drop zone.

It will take an effort of similar proportions to see them avoid the drop once again this campaign, but doing it without Jay DeMerit could prove very difficult.

Prediction: 22

In my opinion the drop will be close this season and could go to the wire once more, but Watford in my opinion may succumb to relegation given their lack of financial clout.

The Hornets have performed admirably with a squad primarily built on loan players, but there will be no Henri Lansbury or Tom Cleverley to bolster the squad this time out.

Watford in my opinion are the side that will drop third bottom but having been proven wrong on this count last season, I guess anything could happen!
