Pellicori Goes Out On Loan

Alessandro Pellicori - remember him?

Vaunted as the answer to our lack of goal-scoring success last season, Pellicori was brought in from Italy, from Serie B team Avellino, in July 2009, on a four-year deal. Pellicori managed to score one goal for us, in last season's 1st Round Carling Cup tie against Exeter.

Then he fizzled out completely and we loaned him out to Mantova in January 2010. Pellicori came back in the summer but has clearly failed to impress manager Neil Warnock.

And today, it has been confirmed that he has returned to Italy to join Serie B side Torino on a season-long loan.

Personally, I wish him well - so well, in fact, that Torino want to buy him next summer when his loan ends!! Quite frankly, this was another one of those disgraceful deals done by the then Board which has, at least in my opinion, caused us all sorts of problems now, as manager Warnock tries to improve the front-line and help us achieve our dream of promotion!
