Pires For QPR?

Reports today suggest that Robert Pires could be interested in a move to Loftus Road

The former Arsenal and France midfielder is reportedly keen to return to London and despite potential interest elsewhere, is refusing to rule out QPR.

Speaking to the Daily Mail the 36-year-old stated:

'QPR? I would be attracted. I am not necessarily looking for a six-month contract. I could imagine myself playing much longer. I will give myself until January 31. If at the end of the winter transfer market I have not found a club, I will hang up my boots.'

Midlands outfits Birmingham City, Stoke City and Aston Villa are also reportedly casting an eye over the experienced wide-man.

In the past this calibre of transfer has either been dismissed entirely (Luis Figo) or proven unsuccessful (Damiano Tommasi).

Whether or not Neil Warnock would wish to add a man of Pires' experience to the line-up remains to be seen, especially given the amount of players currently battling for his desired position.

Pires? was good in his prime. Would he be any good for us i dono. He will be good to have around the training ground, i would think he could do a job for us in the championship, but im not sure bout the premier league

Ooh, my sides hurt from laughing :-D It's a compliment being linked to him - but honestly, does he really want to come to us and (as Big Ash says) do we really want him - if Wenger wasn't prepared to give him a 2-year contract when he turned 30, we should be thinking about the "younger" man as well, shouldn't we . . .!!

I agree, I don't think it's a go-er, I think it's more about him touting himself about rather than actual interest. I'm surprised he hasn't gone to America for his pay day.
