Norwich Suffer Triple Blow

Norwich City have been dealt a triple blow ahead of the New Years Day fixture against league leaders Queens Park Rangers.

The Canaries will be without Henri Lansbury and Elliott Ward according to boss Paul Lambert as they look to maintain the form from their fine weekend victory.

If the injury news surrounding Carrow Road wasn't bad enough, Simon Lappin received his fifth yellow card against Sheffield United and will be banned this weekend.

'If you look at them two [Ward and Lansbury] and Leon being out, Drury out, Surman out, you've got five lads who are virtually going to start for you,' Lambert told the BBC.

'It's a hell of a chunk, that's too much to carry.

'You've got to give the lads who came in a lot of credit for what they're doing, they're a close knit group at the minute.'

City will be able to call on the goalscoring exploits of Wes Hoolahan who should be a sure-fire starter after coming from the bench to net a hatrick against the Blades.

Two penalties and a last minute clincher ensured that the Irishman walked away with the match ball and may well be the one to watch this weekend.
