Les Ferdinand considering buying Rangers, new date for Ipswich match and a new Reserve team manager joins.
An interview in this week's Kilburn Times with Rangers legend Les Ferdinand suggests he's interested in buying into the club.
Speaking to Ben Kosky he said: "What's needed is a big cash injection to bring in some new players and develop Loftus Road and where that's going to come from we don't know." he told the paper.
"Someone's already spoken to me about getting a consortium together and you never know. It'll all depend whether the chairman's up for that and willing to let it happen."
Gary Waddock's side have returned to pre-season training ahead of the new 2006/07 season.
Waddo's squad returned on Tuesday minus internationals Damion Stewart and Paul Jones who were given an extra few days off.
Waddo said: "Pre-season is the worst possible time for professional footballers, but at the same time it's the most important." he told the official site. "It will be very tough this year, but the benefits will be clear for all to see. The players will head to Burnley on the first day of the campaign as fit as they possibly can be."
The new manager has wasted no time in bringing his own coaching staff into the club, Justin Skinner as Reserve Team Manager joined this week. Skinner joins from Chelsea where he has been working in their academy set up and he is also an old friend of Waddock's from their Bristol Rovers days.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for me and one which I'll relish." Skinner told the official website. "Gary and I have been friends for a very long time now and when he asked me onboard I never had any doubts that it was a good move for me."
Finally, our home fixture with Ipswich Town has been moved to allow the Sky cameras in to watch.
The match scheduled for Saturday 26th August has been moved to the preceding Friday for live evening TV coverage on Sky Sports.
