Just as Sky Sports News were revealing that the loan deal bringing Wayne Routledge back to Loftus Road had been concluded, just before 6.00pm tonight (brought to you all by yours truly long before our official site will!!) - so they also aired a brief interview with Neil Warnock himself.

This is what he had to say to the Sky cameras earlier today:

'We are hoping were are able to get a couple of lads in before the game (against Coventry on Sunday). We are working very hard at that - we have been for a couple of weeks. We just need some strenghtening. /

'We've lost two or three players - Jamie Mackie and Patrick Agyemang have got broken legs and obviously Kyle Walker has gone to Villa. So, we just need a bit of supplementing the squad.

'We're a little bit thin on the ground. We only really had 4 or 5 subs last weekend and I think we need to be able to win a game from the bench if possible; and I don't think we've been able to do that lately.

'We've lost Jamie Mackie, we've lost Patrick Agyemang. If we had those two, I wouldn't be worried about going into the market at all. I think we'd have enough - I wouldn't worry in the slightest.

'But when you lose two players like that in your squad, the two lads with pace that can change a game, you've got to bring pace back in to the squad. And we haven't got that extra pace at the moment.

'I only worry about QPR and we need to replace those two up front,' he concluded frankly.

So - let's see which of the numerous rumours now to fruition. But at least something is happening at last!
