Hull City striker Matty Fryatt has been identified by Vital QPR as the One to Watch as QPR travel to the KC Stadium on Saturday.
Name: Matty Fryatt
Date of Birth: 05/03/1986
Former Clubs: Walsall, Carlisle United, Leicester City
Appearances (Goals): 251 (81)
Hull City will be looking to tame table-topping QPR on Saturday and striker Matty Fryatt will be out to continue an impressive run of form for his new club. The hit-man has already proven his credentials as a Championship player and the Rs will be have a tough task on their hands keeping the number 12 quiet.
Fryatt rose through the ranks at youth level at Walsall and made his first team debut in the League Cup against Bolton Wanderers in 2003. At 17 he was sent out to Carlisle United to gain some first team experience, but soon forced his way into the reckoning at Walsall where he became a prized asset scoring 20 goals over the course of the 2004/2005 League One campaign.
27 goals in 70 appearances soon followed and he was inevitably the target of several League clubs. He eventually made a move to Leicester City in January 2006 for an undisclosed fee. Fryatt got off to a flying start to his Foxes career, scoring three goals in his first four games. After failing to find the back of the net with the same regularity over the course of the following two seasons, Matty's most prolific campaign to date coincided with the arrival of manager Nigel Pearson in the summer of 2008.
Fryatt scored a brace at Loftus Road in 2009 when Leicester won 2-1 and before making his move to Hull in January 2011 he ended up with an impressive 51 goals in 168 league appearances for The Foxes. He was reunited with former manager Nigel Pearson and soon became a fans favourite coming off the bench to score against Portsmouth on his debut. The Rs defence will have to be on the lookout for an effective Fryatt looking to net past a team with an impressive defensive record.
