Misfiring forward Leon Clarke has been loaned out to Preston North End for the remainder of the campaign.

The 25-year-old forward has failed to set the world alight at Loftus Road since arriving as Neil Warnock's 'gamble' summer signing.

It would be fair to say that the gambit hasn't paid off as the forward has failed to notch in his 13 appearances thus far this season.

The arrivals of Ishmael Miller and Wayne Routledge have put the former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday front-man further down the pecking order in W12.

Clarke will now try and do what he couldn't last campaign, keeping a club in the npower Championship as his time at QPR appears to have come to an end.
