One to Watch - Danny Graham

QPR travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday in the hope of finally securing promotion and Vital QPR has identified Danny Graham as the One to Watch.

Name: Danny Graham

Date of Birth: 12/8/1985

Former Clubs: Middlesbrough, Darlington, Derby County, Leeds United, Blackpool, Carlisle

Appearances (Goals): 232 (78)

Watford striker Danny Graham has already surpassed expectations in his second season at Vicarage Road and the Championship`s leading goalscorer will be out to net against the Rs looking to finally clinch promotion. With 24 league goals to his name already the QPR defence will have their work cut out in trying to stop the striker adding to his impressive tally.

Graham initially started his professional career at Middlesbrough, coming through the ranks at their academy. An impressive run of form in the U 19 side saw him progress to the first team in March 2003, however he failed to cement a first-team spot in the starting line up and was sent out on loan to numerous clubs. Two goals in nine appearances for Darlington was followed by loan spells at Derby County and Leeds United, however failing to net a single goal he found himself back at Middlesbrough.

He managed to score for Boro against Coventry and Charlton in the League Cup and League, respectively, however in July 2006 the club announced they would be willing to let the once hot-prospect leave. A short spell on loan at Blackpool followed, however he then moved on loan to League 1 side Carlisle. An impressive loan period where he netted 7 times in 11 appearances saw him eventually make a permanent move to The Cumbrians in June 2007.

Graham came to prominence at Carlisle and finally looked to be fulfilling his potential. He managed to score 40 times and soon became a Brunton Park favourite. Carlisle tried to renew Graham`s contract, however he eventually joined Watford on a free transfer in 2009. Since arriving at Vicarage Road he has demonstrated his goalscoring abilities and has become the figure-head of Malky Mackay`s attacking side. With 27 goals in all competitions this season and named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year the Rs players will have to be wary of Graham`s eye for goal.
