QPR Secure Landmark Capture

QUEENS Park Rangers have today announced the signing of England international Joey Barton

The combative midfielder has signed a four year deal in W12, after being allowed to leave on a free by Newcastle United.

The signing marks the capture of a long-term Neil Warnock target as QPR focus on retaining their Premier League place.

Barton left Newcastle with a heavy heart after being publicly lambasted for his comments on Twitter about the Toon Army.

The Magpies made no secret of their desire to let the midfielder leave and since that moment Warnock has stepped up his efforts to sign the player.

Wearing the number 17 shirt, he will fight it out with Saturday's impressive duo Alejandro Faurlín and Shaun Derry who will be looking yo retain their spot at Wigan Athletic.

A landmark signing today by Tony Fernandes and the Rangers board who look set to add more to the squad before the end of the window.

ODDJOB79, NUFC's problem is Ashley. There is no doubt in my mind that JB would still be there if it wasn't for him.
