Jay: Let's Get At Villa

JAY Bothroyd has called on Queens Park Rangers to assert the impetus against Aston Vills this weekend

Following hot of the heels of their demolition of Wolverhampton Wanderers they look to dish out the same fate to a fellow midlands club.

Aston Villa come into the encounter following a disappointing home Carling Cup home defeat (0-2) against Bolton Wanderers.

Bothroyd is still looking to get off the mark and is hoping his fellow charges can take the game to Aston Villa.

'We're once again playing at Loftus Road, so we want to impose our game on them,' Bothroyd told QPR.co.uk

'We want to make it a tough place for away teams to come.

'I've got a friend of mine who is a fan and he sends me clips every weekend of them singing, it's brilliant.

'Even when we lost 4-0 against Bolton, the fans were there until the end, no-one left the stadium early.

'It's a great feeling to know the fans are behind us 100 per-cent.'

The last time the two sides met at Loftus Road, QPR ran out victors courtesy of a Kevin Gallen goal - nevertheless Rangers went on to be relegated.

Both sides have changed a great deal since that day and the modern-day Villa can boast several productive talents - Bothroyd believes they'll be more than a match for Rangers on Sunday.

He continued: 'They're a really good side, with a good Manager in charge.

'Darren Bent is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and Gabby (Agbonlahor) has started the season off well.'

The fixture will be televised live on Sky on Sunday as QPR search for their first home maximum of the campaign and to maintain their position in the top half.
