The Men in Black - Fulham v QPR

Andre Mariner is the man in the middle in the West London derby between Queens Park Rangers and Fulham

The West Midlands official was appointed to the National List of Referees in 2003, before progressing rapidly onto the select list two years later in 2005.

This weekend he will be assisted by Mr Dave Bryan (Lincolnshire) and Mr William Smallwood (Cheshire), with the fourth official once again Lee Probert (Gloucestershire).

He has dished out seven yellow cards in three games this campaign, giving him an average of 2.33 cards per game.

He has taken charge of QPR eight times, and this is the first time since 2007 that he has overseen a Rangers game.

Refereeing Rangers

Mr Mariner oversaw his first taste of QPR as the R's took apart Hartlepool United in Division Two - four first half goals blew the visitors away as Gino Paula, Gareth Ainsworth and a Kevin Gallen brace was only matched by a consolation from Eifon Williams.

QPR were stunned into life in the next campaign when David Friio opened the scoring for Plymouth. The R's took control when a Paul Furlong double was added to by Kevin Gallen, with Marino Keith getting the consolation for the Pilgrims.

Mariner oversaw a typical end of season fixture when Cardiff City edged out QPR in a mediocre encounter - Jobi McAnuff scored the solitary goal to separate the two sides as the line was drawn under another campaign.

The Britannia Stadium was proving a fruitful place for the R's and they continued their fine run against Stoke City. Paul Furlong got the ball rolling before Sambegou Bangoura levelled matters halfway though the first half. John Halls was given his marching orders prior to Richard Langley netting the decisive penalty.

Rangers reputation in the FA Cup is notorious in recent years, and Blackburn Rovers were able to prolong the R's dismal record in the competition. Andy Todd got the ball rolling before Craig Bellamy netted a brace for the hosts.

The second of three encounters with Plymouth officiated by Mr Mariner saw QPR take the lead at Home Park - Dexter Blackstock netted an opener on 17 minutes, before goal-machine Sylvan Ebanks-Blake levelled up matters before half time.

Mariner oversaw a stunner in W12 as Rangers and Norwich City shared six goals - Darren Huckerby gave the visitors the lead before Jimmy Smith and Martin Rowlands turned the tables. Dion Dublin and Rob Earnshaw turned the fixture on its head once more, before Rowlands netted a last gasp equaliser.

Most recently in September 2007, Ian Holloway's Plymouth came to Loftus Road and walked away with all three points. Peter Halmosi put Zesh Rehman on his backside for the opener, while David Norris finished things off for the visiting side.
