'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jones Hails QPR Fans

QUEENS Park Rangers assistant manager Mick Jones has praised the club's supporters in the aftermath of the Fulham display.

Rangers were dispatched 6-0 at Craven Cottage by an inspired Fulham side, but despite the growing deficit only one set of supporters were truly audible throughout the encounter.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk Neil Warnock's assistant told of his surprise and delight that the QPR supporters stayed with the players until the end.

'I have never come off the field at the end of a bad result like that and seen our fans give us a standing ovation. Ever. That tells me that they believe there is something right about this Football Club,' he said.

'To lose 6-0 hurts everybody. But the fans served as a great motivation afterwards - and it was spoken about in the dressing room.

'Neil picked up on it. When we left the pitch on Sunday, it was as though we had won the game. The support behind that goal was incredible.'

Despite the growing deficit the supporters grew in voice and cheered the visiting side from the field. This was predominantly due to the effort that players had out into the fixture with little luck in evidence on the day.

This calibre of support is required as Rangers face Blackburn Rovers next week and under fire boss Steve Kean.
