Cook Craves Move

LEE Cook has stated that a loan move from Loftus Road is imperative if he is to further his career

The Queens Park Rangers supporter has found the going tough under Neil Warnock and as such has had limited opportunities to impress following a succession of injuries.

It had been anticipated he'd be given a chance to shine at Nottingham Forest but following the departure of Steve McClaren his time at the City Ground was cut short.

Cook recognises that a loan move away from the club would be to his benefit and is the only feasible chance of working his way back into the set up in W12.

'My contract is up next June, so it is important for me to go out on loan and show people what I can do.' he told Sky Sports.

'I have missed playing regular football, but I need to be patient and wait for the right move because I've had options to go certain places.

'If I go back there in January on the back of a good loan spell in the Championship then you never know and they might have to sit up and take notice, but all I need to do is look after my career.'

Cook has only made 27 appearances since rejoining the club permanently in 2009, where a succession of knee injuries have prevented him from making a significant impact.

The 29-year-old was omitted from the 25-man squad, making a solitary appearance against Rochdale in the Carling Cup.
