'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cook Poised For Orient Switch

Lee Cook has confirmed he is on the cusp of a loan move to Leyton Orient

Speaking to Sky Sports, the self-professed QPR supporter is happy at the opportunity of being granted some first team football.

'I'm going down to Leyton Orient for a month, up to the Boxing Day game, and I've heard great things about the manager, with both Mark Bircham and Shaun Derry having nothing but good things to say about him,' he said.

'I know a couple of the lads down there as well and I'm just excited to be getting the chance to play some first-team football again because it has been a while.

'They play good football and that is what I wanted really because going to a football club that don't get the ball down and play wouldn't suit me at all.

'They've got some decent players there and it is a move that should work out well for both parties.'

The 29-year-old impressed in an initial spell at Queens Park Rangers while on loan from Watford and eventually engineered a permanent move to Loftus Road upon their promotion to the Championship.

After some sterling performances he moved to Fulham and in order to aid the club in its financial plight, gave back the loyalty money upon the switch across West London.

Since then Cook has found the going tough with a string of injury complaints, limiting him to one appearance this season against Rochdale and his inevitable absence from the 25-man squad.

Cook looks set to pen a move away from Loftus Road and Leyton Orient is that first step to securing another club going forward.
