Anton Focused On Liverpool

Defender Anton Ferdinand is ready for the test that awaits tomorrow as Rangers travel to Liverpool.

The deadline day signing has already featured against the Reds in a 1-1 draw at Anfield on the opening day of the season, and believes that secret to success is remaining focused.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk, the defender outlined the R's approach: 'We have got to make sure we are on the ball and worry about ourselves.

'We are 100 per cent focused on what we are going to do and how we are going to play.

'If we approach the match like that, there's no reason why we can't repeat what we did at Stoke a couple of weeks ago.'

Ferdinand has made 11 appearances for Rangers this term, and the 26-year-old defender will be looking for a similar calibre of defensive stoutness that saw Rangers home against Stoke City.

Boss Neil Warnock has stressed his sympathy with the defender following the fall-out from the highly-publicised John Terry incident.

Partnering with Danny Gabbidon, the former West Ham United man has shown excellent potential at the heart of the R's back-line.

Three of those 11 fixtures of which Ferdinand has featured in for QPR have ended in clean sheets - against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United and the aforementioned Chelsea clash.
