Striker Boost For United

Striker Boost For United

DIMITAR Berbatov is expected to travel to Loftus Road ahead of this weekend's clash.

The Bulgarian centre forward has missed United's last three matches after limping off in the humbling Carling Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that Berbatov will play a part as well as midfielder Darron Gibson - previously linked with QPR and defender Rafael standing a good chance.

He told Manutd.com: 'Berbatov's fit.

'Rafael is back training as well. Darron Gibson got a knock last night [for the Reserves]. He was taken off as a precaution but he should be okay.'

The last time the two sides met Eric Cantona struck scandalously late into injury time to seal a draw for the visiting side. A goal that sits deep in the memory of QPR supporters to the day.

Darren Flether and Nemajna Vidic will be sidelined for the clash owing to their highly publicised illness and injury respectively.

Polter Saves QPR

A SECOND half strike from Seb Polter ensured Queens Park Rangers took a share of the spoils in a less than thrilling return to the Pirelli Stadium for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

While the home supporters chanted the name of their former manager - who guided them into League One and helped pave the way for their current Championship status - the visiting supporters were left exasperated by another fairly tepid display.

It could have been worse for the visiting side as they fell behind
