PHIL Beard has stated that Queens Park Rangers will act sensibly this January, denying a bid has been made for Spurs' Niko Kranjcar.
Speaking to Sky Sports the R's Chief Executive has called for calm in the madness that is the January transfer window.
Beard insisted that while strengthening the squad is required, it will be done to the benefit of the club.
'January is a difficult month to do business but the crazy thing is that some of the numbers that appear, in transfer fees and wages, are just madness.
'Some of the numbers discussed I can tell you are way out of anything we would be looking to do.
'Any deals we are doing will be right for QPR, right for the player and will be sensible.
'We want to bring one or two players in to strengthen an already strong squad. But we're not going to do any silly business in January.
'I think the squad we've got can do well in the Premier League but if we can add one or two players, and they are good deals for the club, then we will.'
Beard confirmed that QPR are in talks to bring Nedum Onouha to the club, but the deal is dependent on factors being right for all parties.
The 'one or two' that Beard suggests is a tad off the mark considering Rangers' dramatic slump in form, with previous boss Neil Warnock stating the requirement for 'four or five' was a must.
While defenders are being linked left, right and centre including the imminent introduction of Taye Taiwo from AC Milan, it is only Henrique on the horizon for Rangers in the attacking third.
The Brazilian has impressed in his brief stint in international football, but quite how he adapts to the rigours of the top flight will be open to debate should the deal be completed.
