QPR To Appeal Derry Red
Mark Hughes has confirmed that Queens Park Rangers will appeal Shaun Derry's red card against Manchester United
Rangers were reduced to ten men after midfielder Derry was dismissed at Old Trafford on 14 minutes by referee Lee Mason.
The veteran midfielder was adjudged to have pulled down Ashley Young who displayed some fine theatrics to earn his side a spot kick.
Incidentally the forward was in an offside position, missed by the ponderous officiating team as Manchester United picked up a 2-0 win.
While the result was most certainly justified, the manner of defeat was a bitter pill to swallow for Hughes' men that battled valiantly.
He told QPR.co.uk: 'Yes, we plan to appeal. We need all hands on deck on Wednesday.
'If we can get it done quickly, then hopefully Shaun can be involved against Swansea.'
Hughes stated that while he was disappointed with the linesman, he does not hold him directly responsible due to the trigger happy actions of Mr Mason.
QPR rested Bobby Zamora and Joey Barton ahead of the clash with the Swans that Hughes evidently deems a priority judging by these comments.
