Clint Hill Extends QPR Contract

QPR have confirmed Clint Hill has signed a new one year contract extension at Loftus Road. The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2013, with the option of a further year.

The defender, who collected both the Players` Player and Supporters` Player of the Year awards last season, had previously expressed his desire to stay at Loftus Road despite the inevitable arrival of new additions to the squad. Hill`s QPR career looked dead and buried when he was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest by previous manager Neil Warnock, but the Liverpudlian came back and played an integral part in ensuring the Rs escaped relegation to the Championship.

The fans` favourite told www.qpr.co.uk: 'I`m absolutely buzzing. As soon as I found out that Mark Hughes wanted to keep me for at least another year, staying here was the only thing on my mind.`

'It was a straightforward decision to stay. I love playing here and I love playing at Loftus Road. It`s a great ground.`

'Hilly` further expressed his excitement at the prospect of QPR`s future as he added: 'I`ve seen the plans for the future and the new training ground - it`s an exciting time to be here.`

'New players are coming in and it`s an exciting time for everyone connected to the club. I just want to try and give the gaffer a headache.`
