Hughes On Fabio

MARK Hughes belives that the experience that Fabio da Silva has, despite his tender age, will make him an excellent loan capture

Fabio, 21, has made an impression at Old Trafford, making in excess of 50 appearances for the Red Devils.

Hughes - a former Manchester United forward - was keen to point out the strengths of signing a versatile player such as Fabio, despite his young age.

He told QPR.co.uk: 'It's a great opportunity for us to loan a good, young player, who has decent experience of playing for a top Club like Manchester United.

'He's played a lot of senior games for United, so it shows the quality he's got.

'I know they think very highly of him and we believe he has all the attributes to be a success here next season.'


Hughes believes that being at Loftus Road is mutually beneficial for both the young Brazilian and QPR as both look to find their feet in the Premier League.

'He's a good defender. He's got great enthusiasm as well, and just like his brother, he's a top professional.

'We can give him the games he's craving at this stage of his career, so it benefits everybody.

'He's very versatile - he can play left or right-back and he's also been utilised in midfield by Sir Alex (Ferguson) in the past, so we know what we're getting, and that's a very good player.'


Fabio's deal runs until the end of the 2012-13 campaign, with supporters hoping he is a bit more successful than the last player borrowed from Old Trafford - Federico Macheda.
