'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Derry Gets Deserved Deal

Shaun Derry has been handed a deserved one-year extension to his contract at Loftus Road.

The 35-year-old veteran was considered too old by some when he originally penned a deal for Championship hopefuls QPR at the beginning of the 2010-11 season.

He is now seen as an indespensible cog in Harry Redknapp's set-up as they look to maintain their Premier League status.

Derry told QPR.co.uk: 'I'm just so delighted to commit myself to the club for another year - I`m enjoying my football more than ever.'

Derry was integral to QPR's promotion to the Premier League and resultant bid for safety in the top flight last season. His experience will be invaluable in the latter part of the season as he looks to forge a partnership with Stephane Mbia.
