DJ Joins Blackburn Rovers

DJ Campbell has penned a loan deal with Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

After failing to force through a transfer deadline day move to either Ewood Park or Hull City, Campbell was selected in Harry Redknapp's 25-man squad, purely because there was no-one else available in the manager's words.

Campbell has been allowed on a 93 day loan with a call back option available within 28 days. He may well make his debut against Ipswich Town - a side for which he had a highly successful loan spell earlier this season.

Redknapp and Phil Beard announced his departure at the fans' forum last night (Thursday) with the manager stating that he didn't feel that Campbell would get him the goals necessary at this level.

Former QPR target Peter Odemwingie is reportedly the subject of interest from Ian Holloway at Crystal Palace. Whether however West Bromwich Albion's disdain for the player is to the extent they'd allow him to leave for a Championship club, remains to be seen.
