Player Rating - 2. Samba Diakité

Appearances: 19
Goals: 0

Samba Diakité was permanently captured from AS Nancy by Mark Hughes after impressing during a loan spell at the back of the 2011/12 season. He started out life featuring heavily, initially with Park Ji Sung, then Stephane Mbia in the heart of midfield.

Old habits refused to die hard as he failed to keep his discipline in check, his naivety costing him a red card against West Ham United - a fixture that QPR went on to lose, to keep an unwanted winless streak alive.

When Hughes got the axe, he received words of praise from Harry Redknapp in the stalemate at Sunderland but was seldom used again after travelling to the African Cup of Nations to feature for Mali.

Rumours of depression were quashed rapidly but nevertheless word continued to grow that Diakité was homesick and looking to return to France. It is highly doubtful therefore that he will remain as part of Redknapp's plans, should a bid be forthcoming.

Rating: 4/10
