Green Latest to Extend Stay
Rob Green is the latest QPR player to agree a new contract with the club. The 34-year-old has signed a new two-year-deal that will see him stay at Loftus Road until the summer of 2016.
The goalkeeper arrived at QPR expecting to feature as the Rs number one, however the arrival of Júlio César bumped Green down the pecking order and he struggled to regain the goalkeeping jersey. Following QPR`s relegation, however, the ex-England keeper reclaimed his starting spot in goal and played an important role in the Rs quest for promotion.
Green told qpr.co.uk: I'm really pleased to have signed the contract."
"The first thing on my mind, after relaxing and enjoying winning promotion, was to get my future sorted, so I'm delighted we've managed to get everything done ahead of pre-season."
He added:"I had a nice break after the long season.
"I feel refreshed and recharged and I'm looking forward to the season ahead."
The goalkeeper, who was voted man of the match in the club`s playoff final win over Derby in May, joins a long list of QPR players who have extended their Loftus Road stay this summer; however the futures of Bobby Zamora and Gary O`Neil are still very much up in the air.
