The Men in Black - Bristol City v QPR

The Men in Black - Bristol City v QPR

Jeremy Simpson from Lancashire takes charge of Rangers trip to Bristol City on Good Friday.

Competition: Football League Championship
Date: Friday 14th April 2017

Assistant: Daniel Leach (Oxfordshire)
Assistant: Tim Wood (Gloucestershire)
Fourth Official: Simon Hooper (Wiltshire)

Jeremy Simpson is once again the man in the middle for a QPR fixture - the second occasion this season he has presided over a Rangers clash.

Earlier in the campaign he was a relative spectator as Rangers slept-walked into defeat against a now relegated Rotherham United side.

Thus far this season he has dished out 149 yellow cards in 35 matches - giving him an average of 4.26 cards per game. He has also handed out five reds this term including Norwich City's Ivo Pinto in a defeat at Aston Villa.

Against Bristol City he will be assisted by Daniel Leach (Oxfordshire) and Tim Wood (Gloucestershire) with last week's official Simon Hooper (Wiltshire) this time playing the role of fourth official.

Mr Leach is no stranger to QPR having run the line in the EFL Cup penalty win over Swindon Town (2-2), the home thrashing by Newcastle United (0-6) and the slender home win over Cardiff City (2-1). He was also assistant in the healthy win at Birmingham City (4-1) and most recently the narrow defeat away at Aston Villa (0-1).

Mr Wood by comparison has done relatively few QPR games - assisting alongside Mr Leach in the aforementioned Cardiff City win as well as the inevitable FA Cup defeat by Blackburn Rovers (1-2). Earlier in the season however he ran the line in a slender away win over Wigan Athletic (1-0).

Fourth official Hooper has refereed in three QPR defeats this season, all 2-1 against Huddersfield Town, the earlier mentioned Blackburn Rovers FA Cup game and last week's slender reverse at home to promotion hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion.
