Vital QPR assesses Saturday's opponents - Norwich City

When the fixtures were announced at the start of the season, this one had a lot of potential question marks against it. Would Rangers be reaching for the playoffs under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink; would Alex Neil have the Canaries bouncing back to the top flight once more? - Both seasons have been underwhelming to the degree whereby both managers have now gone and both have been preparing for next season for quite some time - albeit in a bit more of a slapdash fashion in West London.

The two sides met in a crazy game to somewhat exemplify Rangers' bizarre consistency under Ian Holloway - his first game in charge back at Loftus Road. A red card in the opening few moments ultimately sent the pendulum in the Rs direction. QPR backing up that slender 2-1 win with six successive defeats - nothing out of the ordinary here.

The Canaries have former Labour heavyweight Ed Balls at the helm and have appointed perennial caretaker Alan Irvine as 'interim manager' while other arguable potential suitors come and go in the managerial merry-go-round. If Rangers' consistency is somewhat erratic the Canaries managed to follow up a 3-0 away defeat at Huddersfield Town with a 7-1 at home to Reading - all before losing 1-3 at home to Fulham. A microcosm there of their season to date.

Rangers record at Carrow Road is pretty lousy, Devon White and Martin Rowlands not withstanding. The pair scored in Rangers wins in East Anglia - but that's two wins in 16 most recent visits - hardly a happy hunting ground for Rangers. With little to nothing to play for, for both teams, this is not one to be piling money on it either direction however.
