2017/18 Free Agent XI

2017/18 Free Agent XI

With the summer transfer window now the stuff of memories a number of players remain free agents and can still be signed by clubs.

There are a number of familiar faces in the selection drawn up by Sky Sports and although Premier League clubs have already submitted their 25 man squads, for those sides with a space or two left, Southampton proved last year with the signing of Martin Caceres outside of the transfer window that players can still be added.

And arguably some of the players listed could at least still do a job at Championship level if nothing else you would think.

Is there anybody in their selected eleven that would please you if you saw them arrive this month at your stadium as between the eleven they tot up experience of 1,883 Premier League games.

Goalkeeper - Shay Given.

Defence - Jan Kirchoff, Marcin Wasilewski, Sebastien Bassong, Kolo Toure, Joleon Lescott.

Midfield - Joe Ledley, Mathieu Flamini, Youssouf Mulumbu.

Attack - Giuseppe Rossi, Rickie Lambert.

There will be others unattached as well.

There are some seriously good players on this list however it does make you question why have they not found a home by now? As they are free agents even though the window is now closed they can still be signed by any club.I am aware of one from the list who is about to join another club however as said there are others here who could still do a very good job at Championship level.
