Robinson On Burton Six Pointer

Robinson On Burton Six Pointer

Jack Robinson has been previewing this weekend's clash for Queens Park Rangers and he's described Burton Albion as the proverbial six pointer.

Having falling out of the FA Cup to League One side MK Dons, Robinson called on the team to bounce back this weekend and give the fans something to cheer about after that disappointment.

Speaking to the Official Site with the players preparing for the coming game, Robinson said he felt it was the small margins that were going against us as everyone in the camp felt we were close to being a 'good Championship' side this season.

'We don't feel we're far away from being a good Championship side. It's small margins in the Championship. It's been an up and down season. We want to be higher in the league, of course we do. We've beaten some of the top teams, so I understand the fans` frustrations when we struggle against some of the teams below us.'

Sitting in 17th place as we find ourselves in the second half of the campaign, we are six points and five places above this weekend's opponents but in calling the match a 'six pointer' he knows they won't role over and give us the three points.

'It's a very important game for us this weekend. The nature of the Championship means this is a six-pointer - it's a mad league. If we play our game and take our chances, we believe we can get the win we need. We know the importance of the fixture. When you play anyone in and around you in the league, it heightens the importance. We need wins away from home to enable us to climb the league table.'

On a personal level with Robinson being largely impressive, he has been pleased with his own form at centre back and he feels he's still growing into the position.

'Personally, I've enjoyed this season so far. Playing the amount of games I've played and being fit and available as much as I have been has been great on a personal level. I just want to keep playing and playing well and showing the fans and the club what I can do. I'm enjoying playing centre-back. I feel more confident playing there now.'

He went on to say.

'This is really the first run I've had as centre-back as a pro. I played there a lot as a kid, but this is the first run of games I've had in the position in the professional game and I'm loving it to be honest. We just need to pick up a few more wins and start climbing the league table to give the fans something to cheer about.'
