Bidwell Confident Going into Middlesbrough

Bidwell Confident Going into Middlesbrough

Jake Bidwell as said that Queens Park Rangers are confident going into this weekend's clash against Middlesbrough.

QPR host the side at Loftus Road with eleven points taken from the last six games and having moved into 14th place in the Championship table, Bidwell says everyone has been boosted by us opening a nine point gap on the bottom three.

With with over Birmingham City, Cardiff City and most recently Burton Albion, Bidwell told the Official Site as he met with the press to preview the game, that we just needed to focus on maintaining our current form and then showing further improvement.

'We are enjoying a good run of form at the moment. Everyone is feeling confident and we are looking to carry that on. When you look at the league table you get the feeling that another couple of wins will really enable us to start looking up the table rather than over our shoulders.'

Having had our difficult spell and seen the club slip into a relegation battle, Bidwell went on to say that although nobody was under any illusions as to where we were in the table, the confidence and belief in the dressing room never waned.

'We felt we were playing well even though we weren`t getting the results we wanted. When you feel your performances aren`t getting what they deserve it can be pretty deflating but we haven`t let ourselves feel that way, we`ve kept going because we all felt we could turn it around. If you look at it the other way, if you are doing well it`s important that you don`t get too carried away by it all. And that`s the same when things aren`t going as you want them to. You can`t get too down by it because that can just make it harder to turn around. You have to keep the same work ethic regardless of the results. If you do that I always believe you will get your reward.'

The 24 year old went on to say that he's still looking to develop more as a player despite showing his consistency across the last 18 months.

'I`ve been pleased with my form this season. I can`t really recall coming off the pitch too many times and thinking I`ve had a really tough afternoon from a particular winger, but I always want to get better and take my game to the next level. At the start of the season you want to nail down your place in the side so I`ve been delighted to play as many games as I have. Hopefully I can stay in the team for the rest of the season, and keep improving.'

Looking to Middlesbrough more specifically, he ended by saying.

'Everyone knows what Tony Pulis`s teams are all about. He has a blueprint which he`s used over the years and been very successful with, which shows how difficult it is to play against. But we showed against a strong and physical Cardiff side that we can compete with that approach and we will be hoping to do it again on Saturday. We have had some big results at home this season and we will be doing all we can to add the scalp of Middlesbrough to that if we can.'
