Take The Positives Into Bolton

Take The Positives Into Bolton

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Josh Scowen has called on the team to take the positives from the Wolverhampton Wanderers performance into this weekend's clash with Bolton Wanderers.

Having been beaten by the Championship leaders at the Molineux last weekend, QPR could consider themselves unlucky to not have come away from the game with a point to show for our efforts - second half especially.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media to discuss the upcoming game, Scowen felt we could more that take the positives from the chances we created as well as the way we more than matched them, and dominated them in the second period and he felt a performance akin to that would see us take all three points this weekend.

'We`re feeling confident. We can take a lot of positives out of the way we played against Wolves, especially our second-half performance. We felt we were the better side for long periods of that game, to be honest - and on another day we`d have got something to show for our efforts. Coming back the way we did in the second half will give us a lot of confidence going into the game on Saturday.'

With Phil Parkinson's side coming into the clash on the back of a midweek loss to Cardiff City, Scowen said everyone was expecting a tough test despite their struggles so far this season.

'We know this is another important game this weekend. It will be a completely different game to the one at Wolves last weekend, but we`ve prepared well and we`ll be ready. We feel we`re more than capable of getting the three points and building on the two wins we`ve enjoyed at Loftus Road since the turn of the year.'

The player went on to pick out the midfield as being a key battle area for us if we want to increase our chances of the win.

'The midfield battle is always key in the Championship - it`s where a lot of games are won and lost. I`m guessing it won`t be one for the purists this weekend because there`s a lot riding on it for both teams. But if we can create the number of chances we created on Saturday and take them this time, we`ll be more than confident of coming away with the three points.'

Having found the net against Barnsley to register his first club goal, Scowen joked he hoped he wouldn't have to wait as long for his second.

'It would be nice to score again this weekend and make it two from two at Loftus Road - but I wouldn`t get your hopes up too much! It was great to score last time out and obviously I`m hoping I don`t have to wait too long before my second QPR goal comes along.'

He did feel we had reason to be positive though as we go into a key run fixtures beginning with Bolton, and he knew it was imperative we kick started that run with a maximum return.

'It`s the start of a really busy run of fixtures. This is the time of the season where if you can really string a run of results together, all of a sudden you`re climbing up a few positions. We`re determined to start this busy week with a win on Saturday and if that comes along, it`ll give us even more confidence going into the Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest games.'

Don't get carried away QPR, we should have been out of site by half time on Saturday, we eased off and thanks to your hoofball you nearly got an undeserved draw, add to the fact with that you should have had two sent off one of which should have led to a penalty had that dirty thug Johnson got his just rewards. Your just a very average championship league team.
