Smyth Set For Recall For Forest

Smyth Set For Recall For Forest

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway has hinted that striker Paul Smyth could be set for a return to the starting line up when we face Nottingham Forest this weekend.

Welcoming Aitor Karanka's side to Loftus Road for the latest Championship clash this weekend, Holloway admitted he'd been impressed with the young Irishman's return to action from the substitutes bench in our two nil victory over Bolton Wanderers on home soil.

The 20 year old replaced Jake Bidwell and went on to set up Matt Smith for his stoppage time winner and he followed that up with another showing from the bench as he replaced Alex Baptiste in the defeat to Sheffield United.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media this week to preview our upcoming encounter, Ollie said that he was impressed with Smyth and he was clearly 'knocking on the door' for a start following his last two showings.

'Young Smyth is shouting at me 'pick me gaffer` with his performances. I`ve never worked with a hungrier youngster - wow, what a breath of fresh air.'

Holloway went on to say that Smyth was doing everything right at the moment and ultimately his chance will come, whether it's this weekend or not.

'He`s what we want up there, running in behind off big Smithy. He`s very intelligent with his movement and the way he reads the game. He`s screaming at me and he`ll get his chance soon enough.'
