Battle Of The Gaffers - QPR v Derby

Battle Of The Gaffers - QPR v Derby

Following today's clash between Queens Park Rangers and Derby County, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Queens Park Rangers hosted Derby County at Loftus Road on Tuesday March 6, with both sides playing out a one all draw.

Andi Weimann gave the visitors the lead seven minutes before the half time break, but QPR kept on plugging away and Massimo Luongo saved a point three minutes before the full time whistle and they could've stolen all three with Joel Lynch's stoppage time effort but he failed to find the target.

Smithies, Furlong (Wszolek 74), Onuoha, Robinson, Bidwell, Luongo, Scowen, Freeman, Smyth, Smith (Lynch 86), Washington (Eze 60).

Cousins, Ingram, Manning, Perch.

Carson, Wisdom, Keogh, Davies, Forsyth, Huddlestone, Ledley (Johnson 15), Weimann, Palmer (Vydra 83), Lawrence, Nugent (Jerome 71).

Anya, Pearce, Roos, Hanson.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Simon Hooper blew the final whistle, QPR manager Ian Holloway explained.

'We've got the last quarter of the season left and I've got some wonderfully talented young lads. They've got to learn the game. Some of these young lads have already shown they've got bundles of ability. It's now about getting them to believe in it and win us some games and get some more points. All can I ask of them is to keep going and they've done that.'

Derby gaffer Gary Rowett in his comparative interview explained.

'We're making silly mistakes at the wrong time. I think our overall performance has to be better than that tonight, but we've played badly before and we've won the game. If you see the game out and you defend for the full 90 minutes, you win the game, you keep the clean sheet, we all go home happy and we're not really bothered how we played. The reality is because we've conceded a poor goal the fact that we haven't played very well becomes more important.'
