Mancienne Returns

Young Loanee Michael Mancienne continued his comeback from a hamstring injury by getting an hour under his belt in a Reserve fixture against Crystal Palace at Bromley.

Mancienne gave a solid performance at the heart of the Rangers backline at Hayes Lane.

He was tested with chances from Charlie Sherringham, son of Teddy, and ex-Rangers youth product Dougie Freedman in the first period, but the defence held firm after early waves of pressure.

After a lacklustre first half, Rangers improved dramatically in the second period with Chris Arthur testing Scott Flinders with an inswinging corner. Rangers also hit the woodwork twice with strikes from Angelo Balanta and Antonio German respectively.

However it was all to no avail as a stalemate ensued, and 0-0 was the final result. The bigger talking point will be the dominant display of the young defender Mancienne.

With the arrival of Fitz Hall, Matthew Connolly and Kieran Lee into the Rangers squad, Mancienne will experience competition for places at the heart of the Rangers rearguard.
