Palace Vs Rangers Team News

Exclusive team news brought to you from VITAL QPR.

Marc Bircham is likely to drop down to the bench for the trip to Selhurst Park after making a successful return to first-team action in Saturday's home victory.

The midfielder will most probably be rested as Gary Waddock reshuffles his pack. One of those pushing for inclusion is Tommy Doherty who has been on the treatment table recently. Doherty has completed his recovery from a broken leg and is raring to go.

Scott Donnelly and Richard Langley are also in contention for a starting birth with Gareth Ainsworth finding it difficult playing two games in such short time.

Martin Rowlands and Jake Cole have targeted a return to action for the trip to Sheffield United on Saturday 25th February. Kevin Gallen, Simon Royce and Dominic Shimmin are all still sidelined.

Paul Jones will keep his place in goal and Wolves loan pair Leon Clarke and Keith Lowe have been sent back to the midlands as Waddock looks to keep faith with his contracted players until the end of the season.

As for Palace, Andy Johnson is suffering from a thigh injury and remains doubtful, Aki Rilhilahti is also 50-50 with a groin strain.

Fitz Hall is suspended and will be joined in the stands by Marco Reich (ankle) and Tony Popovic (back).

Palace are currently sitting in the final playoff spot available (6th) and are 11 points ahead of us. In truth, playoff places are now out of our reach no matter how hopeful you are, a victory tonight may fuel some more optimism amongst R's fans but I'm going to sit on the fence.
