The prediction league was good. Got people posting regularly and when they were here they would read the other articles. I think there's quite a few that look but don't post.

Is it worth doing something similar?

The idea of the previous one was ok but the guy who did it took it much too seriously.

I wouldn't have thought it matters if you bugger it up or not. Just come up with the format and rules and i'll advertise via our 6,900 Twitter followers. If nothing else it will be fun.

Good to see this old forum slowly ticking over with one or two old faces (usernames) appearing. Long may it continue.

In get the feeling this forum has seen better days, especially as I and and nearly 7000 followers interact more on Twitter. What should we do?

I don't go on Twitter as it seems to take over people's lives so continue to post on here. It must have been frustrating for your predecessor, Mr Boxer, who published exceptional game reports only to find a very small number of members responding.
The revived prediction league has brought back some old names but they are not commenting on the matches but maybe they can't attend. That is surely what a forum is about, and needs, for it to continue.
I went to the match last night and it was crap. Eleven mediocre players without proper tactics in the only competition we've any chance of doing well in. We won't get promoted or get anywhere in the FA Cup and it looks like a struggle again. I wonder WHO the problem is!

Ah, Adam Boxer. Back in the day he was my VQPR co-editor I left as I had other Vital Network commitments - Adam did a great job on this site by the way.

I am not going to write up match reports as I don't go to any of the games. Plus, there are numerous sites who would do a better job that I could ever do.

The Championship predictions are to me, not going to last and so what do we do? Do you and I have the occasional chat or do I admit that no matter what I do, these old forums have had their day.

I don't want to sound defeatist but unless you can come up with a cunning plan...

Some are doing well. Vital Villa and Newcastle I sometimes look at but others have no posters at all.
Don't think anyone could complain if you wrapped it up as there is no meaningful discussions anymore.
Maybe give notice that you plan to close it as there's no longer enough interest, but we may be swimming against the tide.

I do run other Vital sites and their respective forums are fairly busy. I guess this forum has run its course. Not that I want to give up without a fight and of course receive some feedback.
