WBA v QPR - Match Preview

West Bromwich Albion

The Hawthorns

QPR will look to continue their pursuit for survival when they face Roy Hodgson`s West Bromwich Albion tomorrow. The R`s have won three games on the spin at home but have failed to accumulate a steady stream of points on the road, which has ultimately been their downfall - along with the red cards. Mark Hughes will be hoping his side can buck that trend and beat what is an unpredictable West Brom team. It must be said, QPR have failed to keep their tactical discipline away but if they use the momentum from the results at home, then Roy Hodgson`s men are in for one tough contest.

Mark Hughes will have his men set up with a gameplan and everyone will know their respective jobs. If they are to come away with the three points, the players must focus and concentrate as well as they did against Arsenal and Swansea. If we keep our shape and break at the right moments we will hurt West Brom. Looking at the table, 37 points could well be enough to survive. However, with Wigan`s recent form and Blackburn`s goal threat it could be that more points are needed than previously thought. A point tomorrow would`ve usually been enough but such as is our form and confidence a win is what many fans are expecting. Three points would certainly go a long way towards ensuring our survival, that is for sure.

QPR Team News:

Bobby Zamora and Jamie Mackie face late fitness tests after picking up knocks against Swansea. Armand Traore returns to the squad.

Possible line up:

Onuoha - Hill - Ferdinand - Taiwo

Mackie - Barton - Buzsaky - Diakite - Taarabt

Player to watch: Samba Diakite

With every game that passes Samba Diakite is improving immensely. If we fail to sign Diakite in the summer it will be a travesty that we never saw him and Faurlin play together. Faurlin`s craft paired with Diakite`s athleticism and skill on the ball would really make an impact in the Premier League and certainly obliterate the Championship. Diakite has matured a lot since his debut and is making much better decisions on and off the ball. His driving runs are a joy to watch and he is fast becoming one of my favourites. If Diakite can boss the game tomorrow, much like how he did against Arsenal and Swansea then we could be in for an exciting game.

Match Prediction:

QPR will need to use the momentum from Swansea to attack West Brom and go for the jugular. Providing key players are fit tomorrow, the R`s should attack from the off but remain responsible defensively. West Brom are an unpredictable side and after the midweek thrashing it wouldn`t surprise me to see the Baggies come out swinging tomorrow. Shane Long likes to score against us and he will obviously be a threat. The return of Chris Brunt will give our midfield something to think about too. If we can keep our discipline like we do at home, then we will really give West Brom a tough game. They have nothing to play for whereas we our fighting for our lives. That could prove to be the difference.

1-1 Score draw.

Excellent preview as ever Jack. Reckon he might make an enforced change or two if I'm honest.
