A Royal Bore

1 - 1

Loftus Road

15.10.16 - 15.00

Attendance: 15048

A FIRST goal for Pawel Wszolek was not enough as Queens Park Rangers and Reading served up a dead rubber in W12.

Much like last season, it was a tale of two early goals - firstly the improving winger Wszolek latched onto a fine lifted pass from Olamide Shodipo to convert coolly beyond Ali Al-Habsi.

Later in the first half Danny Williams levelled for the Royals when Garath McCleary was given the freedom of Loftus Road to cross for the unmarked midfielder - His finish from close range was a formality.

If the first half was uneventful - albeit with two goals - the second half was a total non-event. Jaap Stam's side content to retain possession while Rangers lost their shape in search of the victory - throwing on two forward to accompany the flagging Seb Polter.

The German forward did nod wide from close range in the host's best chance of a forgettable second half.

A fair if laboured point for both sides, who will more than likely be challenging for a mid-table berth come the end of the campaign.

Star Player

Alex Smithies: Came off his line to act as a sweeper for a QPR defence caught out time and again with the ball over the top. If it were not for the former Huddersfield man, this could have been an embarrassment.

Morning All, struggling to keep up with all that is QPR while away so appreciating your site and your match reports. The obvious lack of goals is worrying and the fact we cant keep a clean sheet again despite having what looks like a very good back 4 on paper is more worrying! Would hope we improve rapidly because im stuck on a ship for the next 8 months with a very gobby old newcastle fan who regardless of the newcastle score sings 'your going down with the villa' at me when we fail to win again and again! I have noticed a pattern in our wins though! Karl Henry generally doesnt play in them!
