Wszolek Shows The Way
31.12.16 - 15.00
QUEENS Park Rangers tasted victory for the first time in seven games as they overcame Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
A wretched run of form had seen Rangers slip perilously close to the trap door but they've managed to stop the rot and put a buffer in place between themselves the bottom three.
After a goalless first half, the visitors got onto the front foot when Pawel Wszolek engineered a fine cross from the right for Idrissa Sylla to sweep home from just inside the area.
Just as he had done in the reverse fixture at Loftus Road, Dave Edwards netted for Wolves, stabbing home a well crafted cross from the right.
Holloway's men showed character however and went onto claim all three points - and it owed much to the tenacity of Wszolek and the defensive indecision of the home rearguard.
The Polish international fought his way in from the right flank and after a succession of tackles had proven unsuccessful he was able to poke home from close range - not vintage but they all count.
Three wins on the spin at Molineux, a first maximum in seven for Holloway and QPR who can now prepare for Ipswich on Monday.
