Terriers Topple QPR
11.02.17 - 15.00
A DOMINANT first half from Huddersfield Town ensured they continued their fine recent run at Queens Park Rangers' expense.
A relatively even opening to the fixture swung dramatically in the visitors' favour when neat interplay between Nahki Wells and Izzy Brown culminated in the latter side-footing home from close range.
Rangers had their opportunities in with Conor Washington's effort saved onto the post and Ryan Manning lashing the ball just wide of the left-hand upright.
It would be the visitors that rounded off the half in dominant fashion however - the aforementioned Wells powering home after a fine, flowing move.
It was different after the break however with the home side applying the majority of pressure and Huddersfield content to sit back and counter to great effect.
Rangers did have their say in proceedings when substitute Luke Freeman netted his first goal for the club with a powerful drive from the edge of the area.
The game was on a knife-edge and but for a smart save from Danny Ward and a legitimate penalty appeal turned down - Rangers could have got something out of the game that their first half performance hardly merited.
A game of two halves then at Loftus Road as Huddersfield maintain pressure on the division's promotion-chasers, while Rangers stare anxiously over their shoulder once more.
