QPR Claim Deserved Point
11.03.17 - 15.00
QUEENS Park Rangers earned a valuable share of the spoils away at promotion chasing Leeds United - and with a little more luck could have claimed all three points.
A usually expansive and creative Leeds United side were nullified expertly by a resolute Rangers rearguard with Grant Hall in particular an imperious figure in front of the visiting back four.
Conor Washington saw a useful chance thwarted by former QPR 'keeper Rob Green in his 600 career appearance - on this occasion the Leeds custodian was not in as charitable a mood as he was on the opening day.
By comparison Alex Smithies was a relative spectator with neither Chris Wood nor his team-mates able to muster a shot on target despite having the lion's share of possession.
High-flying Leeds were brought back down to earth by a QPR side brimming with commitment but also displaying a creative side to their game that could have, and perhaps should have, resulted in all three points.
It's a marker of where Ian Holloway has dragged his side from - even during the poorer form of his tenure - that they could come to a side entrenched in the playoffs and be disappointed not to leave with all three points.
