Birmingham City, Luton Town, Luton Town (L), Colchester United (L), Brentford (L), Portsmouth
Rowan started his career with Portsmouth where he spent 5 years in the wilderness at Fratton Park, only making 13 appearances. Not impressing Harry Redknapp, Velamir Zajec or Alain Perrin during his time on the south coast.
He was loaned out to Brentford where he has a successful season scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances. He was again loaned out to Colchester where he scored against the R`s at Layer Road in a pulsating 2-2 draw. He had yet another good loan spell with Luton, helping them to promotion from League One, and Mike Newell saw enough to make the deal permanent, in a fee believed to be around £250k.
22 goals in the Luton shirt and he was snapped up by Steve Bruce at Birmingham City, for a fee reported to be worth £3m, he scored only one goal for the Blues, before making a loan move to the R`s under the tenure of Mick Harford, scoring against former club Colchester United on his debut.
He made the deal permanent in January signing for £1m, the delay by Birmingham forced him to miss the Chelsea cup tie. Rowan broke his leg in a training ground incident involving departed goalkeeper Matthew Pickens.
Since then his form and fitness never truly picked up and he was loaned out to Hull City, Brenford and Milton Keynes Dons in quick succession.
After no first team appearances in a number of years, Vine was eventually released in June 2012.
