Hogan is a product of the West Ham United youth academy, where he made only one solitary league cup appearance.

He made his name as a loanee at Colchester United, in a spell dominated by substitute appearances, Hogan had a major impact for the U's from the bench, he made 21 appearances in total scoring one goal.

Hogan joined the R's before the first game of the 2007/08 season, making his debut from the bench against Bristol City. He grew more accustomed to the R's style of play, and wowed Loftus Road with his wonderous wingwork. His loan spell came to an end with a goal against promoted Hull City, before Rangers opted not to renew his loan, instead signing Scott Sinclair on loan.

He rejoined the R's in January for a fee reported to be around £800k. He has made 29 appearances for the R's to date, making him one of the most exciting talents in the country to date.

He fell out of favour during 2009 and penned a short-term loan deal at Leeds United, before returning under Neil Warnock and becoming a regular fixture in the R's line-up. He was left out of QPR's squad in the Premier League - making a loan move to Charlton Athletic - and despite being left out once more was offered a new deal by Mark Hughes at Loftus Road.

He was given a place in the Premier League squad at the start of the 2012-13 season, but never featured - instead loaned out to former QPR man Ryan Nelsen and Toronto.
