Matteo Alberti joined the R`s from Chievo Verona and put pen to paper on a four-year contract on the 1st July.

espite not actually making a first team appearance for the club positioned well in Serie B, Alberti had attracted the attention of several prominent Serie A clubs.

The player, who was spotted alongside Gianni Paladini at the Player of the Year dinner, moves to Loftus Road in move which paved the way for a friendly between his new club and his current club in W12.

Somewhat of an unknown quantity the right footed Alberti can play wide right and scored on his club debut against Stevenage Borough.

After a prolongued period of injury Alberti came back with a bang and scored a double against Nottingham Forest, but it was here that his Rangers career peaked to date.

In the summer of 2010 he penned a season long loan deal with Italian side Lumezzane. He was subsequently released of his contract on 30/09/2011
